Andrews to VIR Pole, Hobbs to Start P1

Scott AndrewsAlton, VA – Scott Andrews ran the fastest lap in qualifying to edge out pole position by .074 seconds for the first F1600 Formula F Championship Series race of the weekend at VIR. The Exclusive Autosport driver will start third, however, due to a Friday penalty costing him two grid positions, but still maintains the pole bonus points. Andrew Hobbs will lead the field to the green flag for Team Pelfrey, alongside Exclusive’s Thomas McGregor. Full Results.

Cane and Andrews Fastest in F1600 Practice

No. 81 Jordan Cane Mygale/HondaAlton, VA - After two practice sessions for the F1600 Formula F Championship weekend at VIR on Friday, Jordan Cane was able to put down the fastest time of the day with a time of 1:58.694. Second fastest for the day was Scott Andrews who had a time of 1:59.065, followed by was Ben Auriemma with a time of 1:59.184.

VIR F1600 Weekend Preview

No. 94 Scott Andrews Spectrum/HondaSalem, NH – Just three weeks ago rounds four, five, and six of the F1600 Formula F Championship series allowed for non-stop action with lead changes, close finishes, and some unbelievable charges at Watkins Glen. Scott Andrews goes into the VIRginia International Raceway this weekend leading the point standings. In second overall is his teammate Jack Mitchell Jr., followed by Austin Mack in third, off his inaugural F1600 win in May.

F1600 Watkins Glen Masters Class Report

No. 21 Art Foster Spectrum/HondaWatkins Glen, NY - During rounds four, five and six of the F1600 Formula F Championship Series Steve Bamford picked up Masters Class wins in both races one and two while Jim Goughary walked away the win in race three. The weekend at Watkins Glen was a competitive weekend for F1600 with lead changes and close finishes making up the storyline starting with race one up until the finish of race three.

Pole and Podiums but not Much Luck for Team Pelfrey at Watkins Glen

Team Pelfrey carsTeam Pelfrey’s trio of drivers showed excellent speed when the F1600 Formula F Championship Series visited the historic Watkins Glen International road course last weekend. The familiar yellow-and-black Mygale-Hondas ran consistently at the “sharp end” of an intensely competitive field, although a string of minor misfortunes restricted them to a best finish of third for Robert Megennis in Race Three. Teammates Andrew Hobbs and Ben Auriemma each had to be content with a fourth-place result.
