Formula Race Promotions Staff Announcement

F1600 SeriesSharon, CT – Formula Race Promotions today announced a number of staff changes in regards to the 2014 Atlantic, F2000 and F1600 race seasons. Race director Michael Rand is moving to an advisory position, and will be replaced in the race director role by Lynda Randall. Rand will continue to be a part of all three series and will attend all seven weekends in 2014.

Team Pelfrey to Run Factory Mygale Effort in F1600 Championship Series

(December 16, 2013) - Pro Mazda championship-winning organization Team Pelfrey will expand its open-wheel portfolio in 2014 by fielding a team of factorybacked Mygales in the F1600 Championship Series. The new association will build upon the relationship that was established two years ago between Mygale and Bryan Herta Autosport. BHA will continue to be the importer of the globally successful Frenchbuilt cars while Team Pelfrey assumes responsibility for trackside support for all Mygale owners.

Winter Meeting at PRI Announced

Formula Race Promotions has confirmed its annual winter meeting at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) trade show on Friday, Dec 13th at 10am in room 208.

This meeting has become a tradition to allow current and prospective participants a chance to mingle with the staff and fellow racers, ask questions and hear about plans for the upcoming season.

Chastain Motorsports Announces 2014 F1600 Program

Sam Chastain will be back for a sophmore season with a new team. Indianapolis, IN – Former IndyCar team and three-time Indy 500 entrant Chastain Motorsports has confirmed its F1600 Formula F Championship Series team for the 2014 season. Twenty year old Sam Chastain will drive the No. 27 Mygale/Honda for grandfather Tom Chastain and father Chris Chastain. Their plan is to run a number of F1600 cars in the 14-race, seven-weekend 2014 F1600 Series. The team is actively looking for two more drivers.

2014 Schedule Change

The 2014 Formula Race Promotions Schedule has seen the following adjustments:

The Pittsburgh weekend for F1600 and F2000 has been moved to August 1-3.

The Thompson weekend for F1600, F2000 and Atlantic has been adjusted to Friday-Sunday, August 29-31.
