Alton, VA - Zach Holden won the second F1600 Championship Series race of the VIR weekend as the leaders scrambled coming out of turn 17 to pass a slower lapped car on the last lap coming to the checkered flag. Holden would take his first F1600 win in the No. 96 K-Hill Motorsports Mygale/Honda ahead of Matthew Cowley and Lance Fenderson.

Alton, VA - Jonathan Kotyk, coming out of the final corner at VIR, got the run he needed to win by a nose for Team Pelfrey, beating Zach Holden to the line by .020 seconds with Lance Fenderson another .050 seconds back in a thrilling three-wide finish in the first race of 2017 for the F1600 Championship Series.

Alton, VA - Matthew Cowley led the way in late Friday afternoon qualifying from VIR in the No. 80 Team Pelfrey entry, taking his Mygale/Honda to the top of the time sheets to score pole for the F1600 Championship Series season opener. However, a penalty from Thursday will cost the rookie two grid positions, promoting Yuven Sundaramoorthy to the first starting position alongside David Osborne.

Alton, VA - Zach Holden completed the opening day of the 2017 F1600 Championship Series season with the fastest lap in both practice sessions. He lowered the best lap of the day in an evening session with the sun setting over VIR, with a fast time of 1:59.000 for K-Hill Motorsports. Check out the full results here.

Alton, VA - After 30 minutes of green flag track time, it was Zach Holden with the fastest free practice lap for F1600 Championship Series competitors in the first session of the 21-race, seven-weekend 2017 season held on Thursday afternoon at VIRginia International Raceway.

Earlier this year, Team Pelfrey and Trinity Karting Group announced their partnership to help talented young go-kart drivers graduate to formula cars via the F1600 Championship Series. From there, the ultimately goal is for drivers to make their way up the #PelfreyPower ladder all the way to the Verizon IndyCar Series.David Osborne of Cincinnati, Ohio is the first TKG driver to successfully make the transition to F1600 with Team Pelfrey.
