The Cape Motorsports racer is second in the points coming off two second place finishes in Virginia in April, while Adrian Starrantino leads the Championship on a sweep at VIR and was fastest in the opening session for Bryan Herta Autosport before an impact in turn one.

Competitive F1600 Series Makes First Visit to Road Atlanta

Bryan Herta Autosport’s Adrian Starrantino is coming off two wins at VIRginia International Raceway but the combined margin of victory was under four tenths of a second.

Starrantino By a Nose at VIR

It was the second win of the weekend for StarrantinoAlton, VA – Adrian Starrantino emerged first by .056 seconds to sweep the weekend after a two-car fight emerged at the 17-turn VIRginia International Raceway in the second race and closing event of the season opener for the F1600 Formula F Championship Series. Jake Eidson finished second for the second straight day after trading the lead back and forth the entire race with Starrantino. Alya Agren completed the podium.

Race Two Pole to Agren

Ayla AgrenAlton, VA – Ayla Agren drove her No. 96 Bryan Herta Autosport Mygale/Honda to pole position for race two of the 2013 F1600 Formula F Championship Series season at VIRginia International Raceway. It marked the first pole in Series history for a female, and also for a Norwegian – as the 19-year-old starts on the pole ahead of teammate and Saturday’s winner Adrian Starrantino.

Starrantino Wins with Last Lap Pass at VIR

Adrian Starrantino (photo: Valet)Alton, VA – Adrian Starrantino started from pole but traded the lead back and forth countless times with multiple cars to eventually win in the No. 98 Mygale/Honda for Bryan Herta Autosport in the opening round of F1600 Formula F Championship Series season in a dramatic race. Starrantino passed Jake Eidson on the back straight on the last lap to take the win by three tenths. Steve Bamford finished third.

Starrantino, driving a Mygale/Honda for Bryan Herta Autosport, clocked in at 1:59.926, going under the two minute mark at VIRginia International Raceway.
