Hays led flag-to-flag in the Team Pelfrey Mygale in a clean, all-green-flag race, as he broke the draft and assembled a massive lead to win his first F1600 race. Tyler O’Connor passed points leader Dario Cangialosi on the last lap to take second place, gaining a few points back on his Championship rival as the K-Hill teammates finished second and third. FRP Drivers Advance in Team USA

Despite minor bumps and bruises, the driver is in good spirits​ and on the way home.

Braselton, GA – Tricky conditions saw Tyler O’Connor take the win at Road Atlanta in the second of three F1600 Championship Series races of the weekend.  Damp conditions saw the F1600 race come down to the last lap, with O’Connor passing K-Hill teammate Dario Cangialosi to take his second victory of the day late in the race. Kellen Ritter finished third for Exclusive Autosport, with Marco Kacic and Ryan Bjerke completing the top five. Scott Rubenzer won the Masters Class in seventh place.

Braselton, GA – The first F1600 Championship Series victory of the 2018 season went to Tyler O’Connor on Sunday morning at Road Atlanta. K-Hill’s O’Connor took the victory in a classic and tightly-contested F1600 race, passing Team Pelfrey’s Joey Essma on the last lap to win by just two tenths of a second in the all-green-flag 18 lap race. Braselton, GA – Tyler O’Connor went three for three on Saturday at Road Atlanta, backing up two fast practice laps with a lap good enough for pole in qualifying. The K-Hill driver ran a 1:30.736 to take pole over teammate Dario Cangialosi. Joey Essma qualified third ahead of Kellen Ritter, with Yuven Sundaramoorthy in fifth and Marco Kacic in sixth. Haas Racing and LD Racing Team to Run the FRP Series

Joel HaasHaas Racing and LD Racing, both from south Florida, have announced that they will combine efforts and run a pair of Piper DF-5’s in the 2018 FRP F1600 series.  Haas Racing ran the series in 2017 with a single DF-5.  LD Racing is a well established Karting Prep shop in South Florida.  They provide Racing Kart Prep service for customer owned Karts and also provide rental karts.  They service all the south Florida Karting tracks (Orlando, PBIR and Homestead) but their base is PBIR.

Jonathan KotykCORBY, England – After a successful test at Donington Park last Thursday, Aaron and I helped the Cliff Dempsey team pack up the truck. We then headed over to Oulton Park with the team’s mechanic Jake – or as everyone calls him, “Cookie.” It was a short hour-and-a-half drive, making for a nice ride through some small villages. We parked the truck and collected Cliff and Harrison before heading over to the hotel for a good night’s rest. The next morning quickly arrived and it was time for us to start our two-day outing at Oulton Park. The weekend consisted of four practice runs on Friday followed by a qualifying and two races Saturday.
